This is a truly awesome dropper. It's worth paying a bit more for this as you'll get a more reliable product build to a higher standard.
I bought this to replace a Reverb AXS which failed on me. I have previously owned Crankbrothers (required more maintenance), OneUp (failed) as well well as the regular Rockshox Reverb (required more maintenance) posts.
The Revive beats these other posts various ways:
(1) It's smoother
(2) It has a loud "thunk" noise when it fully extended, very handy audible cue on a hectic trail!
(3) Almost zero play, way less than others
(4) The "Revive"-function makes it easy to reset during a ride
(5) Machining is of a higher standard than others
I looked up a technical drawing of the internals of this post and as a designer myself I feel assured that this construction is more solid than other posts I have tried.
Minus points:
- I wish this post had a shorter insertion so I could fit the longer version though.
- I also wish there was a wireless version coming from an AXS post.
- While not bad at all, there are even better remotes than the BikeYoke Triggy so take advantage of the fact that this comes without a remote (could be plus point)
I hope that frame-builders will spec future frame with larger diameter seat-tubes and deeper inserts for obvious reasons.
